Astro3DBol Project: An Educational Kit on Astronomy Fundamentals and Archaeoastronomy
Hello Astronomers! Astro3DBol is an educational project developed under the International Astronomical Union (IAU) – Office of Astronomy for Development (OAD) Funding Scheme, created entirely by a volunteer team. The initiative aimed to strengthen astronomy education in Bolivia by merging scientific knowledge with cultural heritage through the creation of 3D-printed educational kits on astronomy fundamentals and archaeoastronomy. Funded by the OAD and implemented at no cost

I. PUBLICATIONS AUTHOR Classification of HI Galaxy Profiles Using Unsupervised Learning and Convolutional Neural Networks: A Comparative Analysis and Methodological Cases of Studies Jaimes, G. 14th Astronomical Data Analysis Software and Systems (ADASS), 1 Jan 2025. Hydrogen, the most abundant element in the universe, is crucial for understanding galaxy formation and evolution. The 21 cm neutral atomic hydrogen (HI) spectral line maps the gas kinematics within galaxies, provi

Bolivian Virtual Observatory (BVO)
Hello Astronomers! Great news for Bolivia, BVO project was implemented! The project focuses on promoting astronomical research and education in Bolivia. It is the first Bolivian initiative to be awarded observation time at the Las Cumbres Observatory (LCO), involving a national team dedicated to monitoring Type II Supernovae and developing free astrophotography programs. The project aims to train students in advanced astronomical observation techniques using remote telescopes

Classification of HI Galaxy Profiles using Unsupervised Learning and Convolutional Neural Networks
Introduction Note: We present a repository for an HI Profile Classification project developed by G. Jaimes (gjaimes@iaa.es) for the AMIGA (Analysis of the Interstellar Medium in Isolated GAlaxies) research group at the Intituto de Astrofísica de Andalucía (IAA). Supervisors: Manuel Parra, Laura Darriba, Lourdes Verdes-Montenegro (PI) Our project page is dedicated to the classification of neutral atomic hydrogen (HI) spectral profiles using advanced Machine Learning (ML) techn
